It receives Z-Wave and Z-Wave Plus signals, repeats them, and then rebroadcasts them to your Z-Wave automation network, boosting their range and reliability. The Aeotec Range Extender 7 works seamlessly to amplify and repeat weak Z-Wave and Z-Wave Plus signals. Simply plug it into a power socket, connect it to your Z-Wave network, and it automatically starts improving any poor Z-Wave signals that are in range.

With Z-Wave, there’s no need to install expensive cables to run your automation system. It’s wireless. But that means that, just like WiFi, there are areas of your property where the wireless signal may be weak or not reach at all. Range Extender 7 solves that. Install it in the appropriate spot, sync it with your gateway, and Range Extender 7 will optimally start relaying and amplifying Z-Wave. Dead spots be gone.

Empowered by Gen7 but not limited by it, Range Extender 7 is compatible with all generations of Z-Wave devices. Through its universal compatibility, it’s able to repeat and amplify Z-Wave signals from both the oldest Z-Wave devices which use 100 series antennas and S0 security, to the newer devices which use 500 series, 700 series, and S2 security.

Z-Wave devices that don’t require batteries typically act as repeaters so some installers will opt for smart plugs instead of dedicated range extenders. But not all repeaters are born equal.
